A few of you may have heard about a Facebook application called 'Owned'.

The point of owned is to buy and sell uploaded photographs and pictures to try and make as much virtual 'lunch money' as they can. I have been noticing recently that many of the uploaded pictures are actually art taken from collections on DA. I have even come across one picture by me for sale on there!

Now I am not a spoil sport, and understand that one you upload art or photographs to the internet it is out there in the public domain and there is nothing stopping someone who wants to take it and use it, but while most on 'Owned' readily admit that they just found the pictures they are selling by searching online, some are actually claiming the art as their own work. Also, I know many of you use stock photos hosted on DA in your art, and there are sometimes restrictions on the use of these stock photos outside of DA.

I just wanted to make you aware that art is being taken from DA and used on 'Owned'.
